Musk Commits to Giving $1 Million Daily to Supporter of Pro-Trump Petition
Tesla’s CEO initiated a groundbreaking giveaway at a rally in Pennsylvania while advocating for support for the Republican US presidential candidate.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has revealed plans to award $1 million daily to residents of swing states who sign his online petition advocating for the US Constitution, continuing this until the presidential election on November 5.

Musk launched the petition and referral initiative in early October, initially offering $47 to anyone who helps register a swing-state voter to sign it. The petition focuses on defending free speech and gun rights, targeting potential voters for Republican candidate Donald Trump.

At a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Musk kicked off his giveaway by presenting the first check for one million dollars to an attendee, while encouraging support for the former president.

“By the way, John had no idea. So anyway, you’re welcome,” Musk said as he handed the check to John Dreher.

With just over two weeks until the election, recent polls indicate a tight race between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Trump in key battleground states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

In the US, the two primary political parties, Republicans and Democrats, tend to dominate most states. However, voters in the swing states are more evenly divided, making these regions critical for election outcomes.

“Every day, from now through Nov 5, @America PAC will be giving away $1M to someone in swing states who signed our petition to support free speech & the right to bear arms! We want to make sure that everyone in swing states hears about this and I suspect this will ensure they do.” — Elon Musk, October 20, 2024.

Nationally, polls show the race between the incumbent Vice President and the former president is too close to call.

Musk, who had previously maintained a politically neutral stance, publicly endorsed the Republican nominee soon after a failed assassination attempt on Trump on July 13. Trump has promised to create a new government role, “secretary of cost-cutting,” specifically for Musk if he wins.

Earlier this month, Musk, with a net worth exceeding $247 billion according to Forbes, revealed that he donated $75 million to the America Political Action Committee (America PAC), which he founded in July. The organization primarily focuses on recruiting canvassers and running digital advertisements to mobilize Trump supporters.
