On Monday, Musk polled users on his social media platform X, asking whether “America should liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government.” The poll received a significant response, with nearly 59% of over 1.4 million participants supporting the idea within a span of less than 12 hours.
This suggestion for potential intervention aligns with Musk's ongoing criticisms of the British authorities, particularly targeting Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He has accused Starmer of neglecting the issue of grooming gangs and failing to properly investigate numerous cases of sexual assaults on minors during his tenure as head of the UK's Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013.
The grooming gangs, primarily composed of men of Pakistani origin, have been implicated in decades of abuse involving vulnerable girls. Various independent inquiries have highlighted a systemic failure to investigate these crimes adequately and to hold the offenders accountable.
Reports from 2013, 2014, and 2015 indicate that both local politicians and police were involved in covering up the widespread rapes, motivated in part by concerns that identifying the suspects could be perceived as “racist.”
Musk has been relentless in his attacks on Starmer, accusing him of being “complicit in the RAPE OF BRITAIN” and calling for his resignation and criminal charges. He has expressed similar sentiments towards the media, alleging that it has played a role in concealing the issue of these rapes. Musk stated, “The British media hid the fact that a quarter million little girls were – still are – being systematically raped by migrant gangs in Britain. They are beneath contempt. Despicable human beings.”
