The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is poised to showcase over 400 new products, along with innovative technologies and services.

The 7th China International Import Expo, themed "New Era, Shared Future," commenced on Tuesday in Shanghai.

Scheduled to run until November 10, this year’s CIIE has drawn in 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions. Notably, it features 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders, setting a new record for the event.

Attendees can expect the unveiling of more than 400 new products, technologies, and services during the expo.

In the Intelligent Industry and Information Technology area, the emphasis is on high-end and intelligent equipment, addressing several crucial topics. This year marks the introduction of a new materials section within this area, aimed at providing a leading platform for showcasing trends, innovations, and products in the new materials sector, while fostering international collaboration and development.

Centered on the theme "Unlimited Mobility Possibilities in the Future," the Automobiles Exhibition Area features cutting-edge technology and showcases new automotive products. It focuses on new automotive technologies and trends, while also exploring the practical implications of various innovations.

The Innovation Incubation area invites innovative companies, top global enterprise incubation platforms, and innovation incubation parks to join, providing an opportunity to ignite enthusiasm for innovation.

Here are some notable highlights from the expo.

A CN survey including 33,858 global participants reveals that 67 percent of respondents view China as an open and competitive free market. In regions like Africa, the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia, the proportions of respondents sharing this perspective are 86.6 percent, 88.2 percent, 77.9 percent, and 78.6 percent, respectively.

Matts Johansen, CEO of Norway's Aker BioMarine, expressed to CN that the Chinese market is his company’s fastest-growing sector. His participation in the CIIE aims to establish new connections and prepare for developments in China.

Rio Tinto CEO Jakob Stausholm commented that the new product launches underscore the positive business sentiment regarding China's market potential. He also commended China's economic advancements and its notable progress in energy transition.

Since its inception in 2018, the expo has stood as a counter to protectionism and unilateralism, symbolizing trade liberalization and economic globalization. This year’s CIIE aligns with China’s goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, emphasizing sustainable growth and showcasing innovations in artificial intelligence, green energy, and supply chain resilience, all aimed at promoting sustainability and minimizing environmental impact.
