Harris sidesteps question on Biden's cognitive health
During a contentious interview with Fox News, Vice President Kamala Harris defended President Joe Biden's mental acuity. Biden had suspended his re-election campaign in July due to concerns regarding his age and cognitive health, designating Harris as his successor.

Host Bret Baier questioned Harris on Wednesday about when she first observed any diminishment in Biden's mental faculties. In response, Harris emphasized that she had witnessed Biden’s actions “from the Oval Office to the Situation Room.” She declared, “He has the judgment and experience to do exactly what he has done in making very important decisions on behalf of the American people.”

As Baier attempted a follow-up question, Harris redirected the conversation to critique her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, whom she labeled as “unstable.” She pointed out, “Joe Biden is not on the ballot, and Donald Trump is,” noting that the American public “have a concern” regarding Trump’s capacity to lead the nation once more.

Biden had initially hesitated to step back from the race but ultimately made the decision following a challenging televised debate with Trump, during which he appeared disoriented and struggled to articulate his thoughts. Harris has since commended Biden, calling his choice to exit the race “one of the most courageous” actions a president could undertake.
