According to Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, approximately 6,000 guests from 76 countries, including China, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, and Serbia, are anticipated to partake in the three-day event. The theme for this year's forum is: ‘Far East 2030. Combining Strengths to Create New Potential.’
The EEF's opening day includes a variety of events, such as the BRICS Creative Innovation Forum, where attendees will explore topics including language digitalization, creative industries, and the gaming sector's development in the Far East.
On the first day, a conference focusing on Russian-Vietnamese relations is scheduled, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of economic ties between the two nations, as noted on the EEF website.
Additionally, the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum will take place, featuring leading experts discussing strategies for preserving unique wildlife.
The EEF-2024 business agenda encompasses around 100 events that will cover subjects like opportunities for Russian small and medium-sized enterprises in the Chinese market, navigating risks and uncertainties in a multipolar world, and formulating international youth policy within the Asia-Pacific region. Other discussions will address the expanded BRICS and Russian logistics connectivity.
The EEF program also incorporates business dialogues between Russian entrepreneurs and their counterparts from China, India, and ASEAN nations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is slated to speak at the EEF plenary session on September 5 at approximately 3 PM local time, alongside Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng.
In a message to forum participants published on the EEF website, President Putin remarked on the rapidly growing influence of the Asia-Pacific region in international affairs, highlighting the emergence of new opportunities for constructive collaboration, particularly within organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Community, the SCO, and BRICS.
“I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that Russia is open to dialogue with all interested partners in the Asia-Pacific region and is determined to actively interact with others to build a fairer, more democratic system of international relations based on genuine equality, with no place for dictates, strong-arm tactics or sanctions pressure,” he stated.
