China capitalizes on AI innovations to boost industry and encourage home use
China is poised to leverage the opportunities arising from breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, drawing on its strengths in digital technology, manufacturing, and market scale to promote widespread AI adoption across various sectors and households. Chen Changsheng, a member of the Government Work Report Drafting Team and deputy director of the State Council Research Office, shared this insight during a press briefing about the Government Work Report delivered at the third session of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.

This year has already seen a rapid implementation of AI applications, with DeepSeek making waves globally and Unitree Robotics unveiling a dancing robot at the China Media Group's Spring Festival Gala.

Chen noted that international capital markets have renewed their confidence in Chinese assets, highlighting the role of AI in spurring economic growth. The government’s focus for this year encompasses several key areas:

1. **Empowering industries** – The integration of AI across sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and services will be emphasized, with substantial support directed toward the development and application of large AI models in specialized domains. The aim is to facilitate industrial transformation and enhance productivity.

2. **Expanding AI-powered consumer products** – The push for smart connected vehicles, AI-enabled smartphones, AI-driven computers, and intelligent robots will be accelerated. Aligning AI advancements with China's manufacturing capabilities will allow these innovations to reach consumers more swiftly, thereby enhancing their daily experiences.

3. **Scaling AI applications across sectors** – The government plans to initiate large-scale demonstrations featuring new AI technologies, products, and use cases, particularly in areas like the low-altitude economy, education, and healthcare. There is an emphasis on preventing fragmentation in the market due to over-reliance on proprietary systems, fostering rapid iterations and widespread adoption to create a dynamic synergy between technological innovation and market applications.

In addition, China aims to continue enhancing core AI technologies, expedite data-driven innovation, and optimize computing infrastructure throughout the nation. Recognizing the critical role of AI talent, especially among young professionals, the government will invest more resources to support youth-led innovation and cultivate an open, inclusive environment for AI development.
