Update: President Ebrahimi along with Iranian Foreign minister and 7 others are confirmed dead after visual confirmation of crash site in a remote mountainous region, by search and rescue crews, narrated in Persian in this first ground-level video of the confirmed crash site.

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the Iranian Foreign Minister, which went missing on May 19, 2024, may have been spotted by a Turkish Drone in a mountainous area in the extreme north of the province of East Azerbaijan.

Maps attained, based on coordinates provided by Turkey, appear to indicate the helicopter may have crashed into the side of a mountain in dense fog. No roads appear to be close to the crash site as Iranian rescue parties struggle to reach the area in dense fog and extreme cold over rugged terrain.

The purported crash site is situated near a mountain top just south of the village of Khunirud in northern Iran. Rescue workers have not yet reached the crash site and there appear to be no roads anywhere near the crash site other than a rugged hiking trail on an adjacent mountain south of the crash site.
