Trump replies to Harris regarding her comment on Hitler
The heightened rhetoric from US Vice President Kamala Harris indicates that she is losing and unfit for the presidency, according to Republican candidate Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, Harris labeled Trump a fascist, dictator-in-waiting, and admirer of Adolf Hitler, referencing reports from media outlets affiliated with the Democratic Party based on claims from his former chief of staff.

The Atlantic, a publication owned by Democratic benefactor Lauren Powell Jobs, featured an article by Jeffrey Goldberg alleging that Trump had shown admiration for Hitler and his generals during his presidency from 2017 to 2021. Goldberg's claims were attributed to retired US Marine General John Kelly, who was Trump’s second chief of staff, and were based on previous assertions by two New York Times journalists in their 2022 book. Trump's team has firmly denied these allegations.

“Comrade Kamala Harris sees that she is losing, and losing badly, especially after stealing the Race from Crooked Joe Biden, so now she is increasingly raising her rhetoric, going so far as to call me Adolf Hitler, and anything else that comes to her warped mind,” Trump remarked on X on Thursday.

“She is a Threat to Democracy, and not fit to be President of the United States — And her Polling so indicates!” he added.

With less than two weeks before the November 5 election, both Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, along with Democratic candidates in down-ballot races, have seen their polling advantage shrink as Trump and the Republicans gain momentum.

In response, Harris quoted Goldberg’s article, asserting that Trump’s alleged admiration for Hitler was “deeply troubling and incredibly dangerous” and offered “a window into who Donald Trump really is.” She further accused him of having “vowed to be a dictator on day one and vowed to use the military as his personal militia to carry out his personal and political vendettas.”

Earlier this week, The Atlantic published another article likening Trump to Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Joseph Stalin, authored by Anne Applebaum, the wife of Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

The Trump campaign dismissed Applebaum’s article as “fake news by a third-rate media outlet,” claiming that Kelly “beclowned himself with these debunked stories he has fabricated” and charged Harris with spreading “outright lies and falsehoods” by taking Goldberg’s allegations seriously.

“This is the type of disgusting rhetoric that led to two assassination attempts against President Trump,” the campaign stated. Trump narrowly escaped danger at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, and a pro-Ukrainian activist was arrested last month by the Secret Service while lurking at Trump’s golf course in Florida.
