Top Democrat Calls for Investigation of Musk Following His $1 Million Promise to Voters
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has criticized Elon Musk's plan to provide financial incentives to voters supporting his petition related to the US Constitution.

On Saturday, the CEO of X, SpaceX, and Tesla declared he would give $1 million daily to registered voters in key states if they signed his petition promoting “free speech and the right to bear arms." During a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he presented the first check to a man named John Dreher.

Musk, an outspoken supporter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, indicated that this financial giveaway would continue until Election Day on November 5.

Shapiro, a prominent Democrat and former state attorney general who was previously considered as a potential vice-presidential candidate, described Musk's actions as “deeply concerning.”

“I think there are real questions with how he is spending money in this race, how the dark money is flowing, not just into Pennsylvania, but apparently now into the pockets of Pennsylvanians,” Shapiro stated during an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press.

“It’s something that law enforcement could take a look at,” he added.

“Musk obviously has a right to be able to express his views,” Shapiro remarked. “I don’t deny him that right. But when you start flowing this kind of money into politics, I think it raises serious questions that folks may want to take a look at.”

Musk began to openly back Trump following an assassination attempt on the former president in July. In the past few months, he has contributed $75 million to the pro-Trump America PAC.

With closely contested polls and only two weeks left of campaigning, Trump and Harris are vying for victory in swing states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Nevada, which are crucial for success on election night.
