Three Killed by Man in Shanghai Stabbing Rampage
Three individuals lost their lives, and 15 others sustained injuries in a knife attack at a supermarket in Shanghai, according to police reports received on Tuesday. The assault occurred just prior to China’s lengthy National Day holiday.

Authorities responded swiftly after being alerted to the incident at 9:47 pm on Monday. The suspect, identified as Lin Moumou, is a 37-year-old man, as confirmed by city police.

Eighteen victims were rushed to the hospital, three of whom later died from their injuries. The report indicated that the remaining 15 victims are in stable condition. Preliminary investigations suggest that Lin's violent outburst was driven by “personal financial reasons.”

CCTV footage captured a man wielding a knife in each hand as he moved through the store, while terrified customers screamed and attempted to escape.

China’s stringent restrictions on civilian firearms often lead to violent incidents involving knives.

In a related note, it was reported last month that a 10-year-old Japanese schoolboy was stabbed to death outside a school in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.
