The 6th Human Space Symposium began on Thursday in Shenzhen, located in Guangdong Province, southern China. This two-day event marks the 25th anniversary of the Shenzhou-1 launch and approaches the two-year milestone since the completion of China's Space Station.

Over 800 experts and scholars from diverse fields related to manned spaceflight are in attendance. The theme for this year's symposium is "Tiangong Dream Realized, Mengzhou Embracing the Moon – Advancing into a New Era of Manned Spaceflight." It is the first symposium following China's completion of its "three-step" strategic mission in manned spaceflight, as the country embarks on new ventures in space station applications and lunar exploration.

The conference features keynote addresses from 12 academicians, esteemed experts, and astronauts. Sessions will address project development, achievements in space science and applications related to the space station, as well as the construction and operation of the national space laboratory. Additionally, 15 specialized forums will investigate various facets of manned spaceflight, including common technologies, human habitation in space, lunar exploration support, and human factors engineering.

Among its highlights, the symposium will showcase 351 thematic papers, with 18 outstanding contributors slated to receive honorary certificates. Furthermore, organizers have arranged a "Chasing Space Dreams, Questioning the Cosmos" astronaut experience activity aimed at fostering public enthusiasm for space exploration, especially among young people.

China's manned space program has effectively entered the phase of space station application and development. The nation is diligently moving forward with its plans for manned lunar exploration, with various research and development projects on track. This symposium acts as a forum for sharing cutting-edge research findings and envisioning the future trajectory of China's manned space program, supporting the country's ambition to become a leading space power.
