Tara Reade: Biden's Legacy Marked by Blood and Financial Gains from Conflict
The departing U.S. president has pushed the world to the edge of World War III, and it now falls to Putin's restraint to avert disaster.

Back in 2019, I warned that Joe Biden's election as president would lead us into conflict with Russia. Today, we find ourselves perilously close to World War III, with no diplomatic solutions in sight from the Biden administration.

The journey to this dangerous position has been lengthy, rooted in Biden's tenure as a senator during the 1990s. Several of the anti-Russia advocates he surrounded himself with then still serve him today. This longstanding xenophobia has culminated in the decision to permit Ukraine to use American long-range missiles to target Russian territory.

This choice represents a serious and reckless miscalculation, a provocative escalation that could draw the world into a devastating conflict – a Third World War.

Biden seems deeply entrenched in policies that exacerbate instability and global unrest. His overarching approach to foreign policy is endangering all of humanity. Meanwhile, the White House press secretary has assigned blame for the escalation to Russia. This hypocrisy is predictable and has gone largely unchallenged by the establishment media.

Granting permission for Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range missiles transcends mere support for a beleaguered ally; it constitutes an act of aggression toward a nuclear power. Russia has clearly communicated its red lines, yet Biden has chosen to overlook and defy them, showing a remarkable indifference to the possible ramifications. It is crucial to remember that the turmoil in Ukraine stems directly from the U.S.-backed 2014 Maidan coup, orchestrated by Victoria Nuland. What followed was not a true democracy. Subsequently, NATO's continued eastward expansion, despite earlier assurances to Russia, has created an untenable security environment for Moscow. Ukraine's deepening ties with NATO and the West have only intensified tensions, leaving Russia with little choice but to safeguard its strategic interests, especially as Kiev engaged in actions against its own residents in eastern territories.

Instead of recognizing these intricate dynamics, Biden has reinforced a narrative of moral absolutism, depicting Ukraine as a blameless victim and Russia as the aggressor. Each of his supportive actions toward the Zelensky government has clearly communicated to Russia that the U.S. is disinterested in diplomacy or de-escalation and is engaged in a perilous proxy war that risks spiraling out of control.

The Biden administration’s actions also highlight a glaring hypocrisy. While condemning Russia for breaching international norms, the U.S. continues to instigate conflicts worldwide through military actions, arms sales, and covert operations. The record of Washington’s interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya reflects a commitment to destabilization, all under the guise of promoting ‘freedom and democracy.’

From Russia's perspective, the U.S. allowing Kiev to utilize American missiles for attacks deep into its territory poses not only a military challenge but also a direct violation of its sovereignty and security. Thus far, Moscow's response has exhibited a calculated show of strength coupled with restraint, with a focus on avoiding escalation. However, how long can this patience endure? The Biden administration seems to be banking on the notion that Russia will retreat, a dangerous misjudgment. History has demonstrated that great powers do not back down when their core interests are threatened.

While the U.S. and NATO continue their provocative course against Russia, Biden’s recent actions have even led some allies to draw the line; for example, Germany has declined to send long-range missiles to Ukraine, and Italy has opted for a different method of support.

We currently inhabit a multipolar world where cooperation and mutual respect yield superior outcomes compared to competition and confrontation. Russia's calls for dialogue and recognition of its sovereignty should not be dismissed but rather embraced as a foundation for a new global order.

Outgoing President Joe Biden leaves a legacy steeped in violence and profit from perpetual warfare. Facing the end of his term with nothing to lose, this president—whose so-called empathy was lauded by a compliant media—has placed all of humanity on the brink of extermination. We must now depend on President Vladimir Putin's patience and restraint. As Putin noted this year, “The vampires’ ball is coming to an end.” In essence, the era of Western dominance is concluding.

The world cannot afford another global war, and history will remember those who failed to avert it.
