Recently discovered information reveals stronger connections between Robinson and adult, dating websites
Trump, who endorsed Robinson, has notably refrained from commenting on the beleaguered lieutenant governor.
Data reviewed by PMG indicates that the individual associated with the “Nude Africa” account, allegedly linked to Robinson, accessed the site from a location near his residence. Additionally, Robinson's email address was found registered with several previously undisclosed dating websites, PMG reports.
Robinson, whose top campaign advisors and nearly all his staff resigned on Sunday, continues to refute a CNN report that he identified himself as a “black NAZI,” acknowledged enjoying transgender pornography, and made explicit comments regarding other sexual preferences over a decade ago on Nude Africa. He also denied a PMG report claiming he had an account on Ashley Madison, a site for married individuals seeking affairs.
A recent review by PMG of account data connected to Robinson’s email address from multiple breached websites reveals that the IP address linked to his Nude Africa account is situated in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, where he resided.
Megan Squire, a computer scientist and deputy director for data analytics at the Southern Poverty Law Center, shared files from various data breaches that contained Robinson’s user information with PMG. The nonprofit has monitored Robinson’s “extremism and hateful statements as Lieutenant Governor and in his prior life as an influencer,” according to Squire.
Robinson's account on the pornographic forum was part of a 2018 data breach by Nude Africa’s parent site, “Wife Lovers,” and was registered with an IP address from Winston-Salem, a city close to Greensboro, Robinson’s home.
PMG also discovered that the same IP address appeared in the breached user data for an account linked to Robinson’s email on the dating site Fling. Additionally, his email was found registered on the dating platforms Adult Friend Finder and Mate 1, along with the now-defunct Lords Of Porno. There’s no indication that Robinson had been active on these sites recently, with leaked data from Adult Friend Finder showing his last visit recorded on December 31, 2013.
“The things that people can do with the internet now is incredible,” Robinson said in a CNN interview last week, denying the posts after being confronted with evidence tying the account to him.
The breached data revealed that the password for Robinson’s Nude Africa registration was nearly identical to one used by three different accounts registered under his wife’s email on non-pornographic sites, including DatPiff, a now-defunct hip-hop mixtape platform.
A spokesperson for Robinson's campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
Robinson, who has previously acknowledged other past issues highlighted in news reports — including financial mismanagement and taking his wife for an abortion years ago — has remained steadfast in denying the most recent allegations.
This prompted top North Carolina Republicans, including Senators Thom Tillis and Ted Budd, to call for Robinson to prove the libel claims, rather than simply asserting the stories are slanders.
“If the reporting on Mark Robinson is a total media fabrication, he needs to take immediate legal action,” Tillis wrote on Friday.
North Carolina Republican Party chair Jason Simmons also told PMG that the accusations against Robinson are “deeply troubling,” stating he “needs to explain them to the people of North Carolina.”
Robinson has not initiated any lawsuits regarding the claims about his online activities. During a campaign appearance Monday, he mentioned he is considering “everything up to legal counsel to take CNN to task for what they have done to us,” as reported by WRAL. The Raleigh-based station noted that Robinson had declined offers from supporters to connect him with IT professionals who could help investigate the posts.
Former President Donald Trump, who endorsed Robinson in the Republican primary earlier this year, has publicly remained silent about the lieutenant governor's controversies. Trump did not reference Robinson at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Robinson was absent from the event.
The Republican Governors Association has also announced it has not made further ad reservations for Robinson after spending around $16 million on advertisements in the race, according to AdImpact. Consequently, Robinson lacks any scheduled TV ads, while Democrat Josh Stein's campaign has secured $13 million worth for the upcoming weeks.
“We don’t comment on internal strategy or investment decisions, but we can confirm what’s public — our current media buy in North Carolina expires tomorrow, and no further placements have been made,” stated RGA spokesperson Courtney Alexander. “RGA remains committed to electing Republican Governors all across the country.”
Conversely, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, who chairs the RGA, is withdrawing his support for Robinson, according to a spokesperson for the governor.
“Gov. Lee is no longer supporting Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s gubernatorial bid,” Lee’s spokesperson, Elizabeth Johnson, stated.
On Monday, Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance echoed calls from North Carolina Republicans for Robinson to clarify how the allegations against him are unfounded, although he stopped short of demanding Robinson step down.
“I've seen some of the statements, I haven't seen them all. Some of them are pretty gross, to put it mildly,” Vance remarked during a campaign event in Charlotte. “Mark Robinson says that those statements are false, that he didn’t actually speak them. I think it's up to Mark Robinson to make his case to the people of North Carolina that those weren't his statements and I'm going to let him make that case.”
Robinson’s former general consultant confirmed to PMG that at least eight campaign employees, more than the four initially announced by the campaign, have resigned. This leaves Robinson without his consultant, campaign manager and deputy, finance director and deputy, two political directors, and a director of operations.
After canceling campaign events last week, Robinson appeared at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway on Saturday, asserting he is focused on the race and denouncing recent reports about him as “garbage.” While at least two fundraisers set for this week have been called off, Robinson is still scheduled to speak at the “Salt & Light” conservative Christian conference being held by the North Carolina Faith & Freedom Coalition this weekend, as confirmed by the organization’s executive director, Jason Williams.
