With luxurious walnut and gold interiors, this unique location provides guests with the “chance to live like a billionaire.”

A private jet, reportedly once owned by infamous cocaine lord Pablo Escobar, has been transformed into an Airbnb in Bristol, UK. The aircraft, a Boeing 727, lacks its wings and engines but boasts a renovated interior reminiscent of the 1980s. Now known as PYTCHAir, the plane is adorned with vibrant spray-painted designs and operates from an industrial estate in the city.

Originally constructed in 1968, the jet was repurposed for private ownership in 1981 and ultimately decommissioned in 2012, according to businessman Johnny Palmer, its current owner, who spoke with the Bristol Post in an article published Thursday.

“There is a bit of a roleplay cosplay thing going on there—people enjoy that experience and living that fantasy for a little while before returning to their normal lives,” Palmer shared. The grounded aircraft now offers guests the “chance to live like a billionaire at 32,” as indicated in its Airbnb listing.

While the listing does not reference Pablo Escobar by name and the plane's earlier ownership in the Cayman Islands adds complexity to tracing its past owners, Palmer believes that one of its previous holders was indeed the notorious drug lord.

Escobar, known as the “king of cocaine” due to his dominance over the Medellín Cartel, controlled approximately 80% of the global cocaine trade at the peak of his power. He was killed at his home in Colombia in 1993, although the details surrounding his death are still debated.

Palmer noted that restoring the plane was a lengthy project that spanned several years. He worked diligently to restore the 1981 interior to the best of his ability.

“I did a lot of the electrical work myself, and I had a plumber and a carpenter—many people were involved in the process,” he recounted.

The airplane's interior features elegant walnut paneling, plush leather seats, and a gold-plated shower and toilet. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor shower, alongside a hot tub and sauna.

Prices for a stay at the Airbnb start at £250 per night, with peak nights potentially reaching £850. Palmer plans to reinvest the income generated from the business into furthering the restoration of the jet and enhancing the overall guest experience.
