North Africa: Enigmatic Plateaus, Deserts, and Sea
North Africa, encompassing Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, is defined by its distinct plateau and desert terrains.
Situated mainly within the subtropical high-pressure zone, North Africa experiences hot and dry descending air masses which contribute to its minimal precipitation and desert-like climates.
In this challenging environment, the biodiversity is somewhat limited; however, numerous species exhibit strong adaptations to drought. Creatures like camels, the addax, and the fennec fox have evolved to thrive under these extreme conditions.
Additionally, the area is notorious for hosting various venomous reptiles and hazardous insects, including the Egyptian cobra and scorpions.
