Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, intensified his criticism of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday. He took aim at Starmer's response to the grooming gangs scandal through a series of posts on the social platform X.
In one post, Musk commented on reports suggesting that the Home Office had advised police forces in 2008 against investigating the sexual exploitation of underage girls, claiming that these girls had made “informed choices” despite being below the legal age of consent. “Starmer must go. He is [a] national embarrassment,” he stated.
Musk also mocked Starmer's anticipated response to his allegations, which is expected on Monday, saying, “Prepare for some epic cringe.”
Earlier this week, Musk had launched a significant critique of Starmer, accusing him of neglecting the issue of grooming gangs and failing to properly address numerous assaults on underage girls during his tenure as the head of the UK's Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013. Musk referred to the grooming gangs as a “state-sponsored evil,” asserting that Starmer was “complicit in the RAPE OF BRITAIN” and argued that he should not only resign but also face criminal charges.
Over the last three decades, gangs in the UK, primarily composed of men of Pakistani descent, have been implicated in the mass rape and exploitation of vulnerable girls. Numerous independent inquiries have indicated systemic failures to investigate these crimes. Three reports published in 2013, 2014, and 2015 revealed that local politicians and police often opted to conceal the rapes, fearing that doing so would be perceived as “racist.”
In addition to targeting the British PM, Musk engaged in disputes with British media and politicians regarding the grooming gangs and other related issues. He reiterated his demand for the release of right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, who is currently jailed in England for contempt of court. Musk sharply criticized the media coverage of his statements, suggesting that the British media has played a role in silencing the “rape gangs” issue.
“This is the same media that hid the fact that a quarter million little girls were – still are – being systematically raped by migrant gangs in Britain. They are beneath contempt. Despicable human beings,” Musk remarked.
The controversy surrounding Robinson has also seemingly created tension between Musk and Nigel Farage, the leader of the Reform UK party, whom Musk had previously dubbed the “only hope” for Britain. After Farage refused to support Musk’s position on Robinson, the billionaire urged the Reform UK party to remove its leader as well.
