Iran Initiates Large-Scale Missile Strike on Israel
Iran has initiated a significant ballistic assault on Israel, with the elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) asserting that it has launched “dozens” of missiles targeting military sites throughout the nation.

The IRGC attributed this assault to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas political leader, who was killed in Tehran in July, as well as the recent killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. Iran cautioned Israel against any retaliatory actions, vowing a “crushing response” if such measures were taken.

Footage circulating online suggests that many of the missiles fired on Tuesday evening successfully penetrated Israel's anti-aircraft defenses.

Some clips appear to show interceptions of incoming rockets; however, the volume of the strike has enabled Iran to breach these defenses, leading to multiple impacts on the ground.

Reports indicate at least one missile struck an offshore gas platform near Ashkelon. One of the unverified videos allegedly depicts the installation engulfed in flames.

In response to the incident, Israel activated its ground defenses and reportedly deployed 25 of its F-15 fighter jets. However, a significant portion of the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) fleet remains occupied in northern Israel, where it has been engaged in a bombing campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
