IDF Probes Soldiers Accused of Mistreating Deceased Palestinians
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is conducting an investigation into allegations that its soldiers were involved in throwing the bodies of deceased Palestinians from a rooftop during an operation in Qabatiya, a town in the occupied West Bank.

Footage obtained from various angles by onlookers, including reporters from AP and Al-Araby, captured the actions of three soldiers atop a multi-story building. These videos reveal the soldiers pushing what appear to be lifeless bodies off the roof.

“This is a serious incident that is not in line with IDF values and what is expected of IDF soldiers,” stated the Israeli military.

The recordings show one body being dragged to the roof's edge before being thrown to the ground. Another body was swung over the ledge by soldiers grasping its limbs. A third body was kicked off the edge by a soldier. It has been reported that the three Palestinian men were casualties of the Israeli incursion.

Talal Ibrahim, in a social media post, highlighted the brutality of this act, with another video emphasizing the ruthlessness of soldiers in deploying the bodies of the young men from the roof of the besieged building in Qabatiya.

Photos from the scene also depict an Israeli army bulldozer maneuvering close to the building where the incident occurred.

“A bulldozer tried to demolish the house to bring the bodies down. That didn’t work,” reported Al-Araby journalist Ameed Shehadeh, who witnessed the event.

The IDF has reported that, in a recent raid in the northern sector of the West Bank, four gunmen were killed by Israeli troops.

International statutes mandate respectful treatment and repatriation of deceased bodies, including those of enemy fighters.

This incident occurs amidst escalating Israeli military operations in the West Bank, initiated in response to an attempted suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that over 700 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the previous October.
