Google acknowledges voting feature preference for Harris over Trump
**The tech giant failed to provide voters with data on where to vote for the Republican**

Google has acknowledged that its search engine directed US voters to information on where to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, but did not provide similar details for Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Users on social media observed that when they searched "Where can I vote for Harris?", they were able to input their address to find the nearest polling places and access an interactive map. In contrast, a search for "Where can I vote for Trump?" yielded only news articles related to the election without any voting location information.

This issue sparked significant backlash, including comments from X owner and Trump supporter Elon Musk, who asked, “Are others seeing this too?” Many users quickly accused Google of disseminating “leftist trash propaganda” and engaging in “election interference.”

In response to the controversy, Google has attributed the discrepancy to a technical glitch, explaining that “the ‘where to vote’ panel problem occurred because Harris is also the name of a county in Texas.” Additionally, the company stated that searches including Trump’s running mate JD Vance's name faced the same issue, as it too corresponds to a county.

Google also remarked that “very few people actually search for voting places this way,” and emphasized that the problem had since been resolved.

The tech giant has faced ongoing criticism for alleged political bias. Earlier this summer, Donald Trump Jr. and other Republicans accused the company of downplaying the attempted assassination of the former president, highlighting that searches for terms like “Trump assassination attempt” did not autofill results.
