Forum in New York focuses on China-U.S. trade opportunities, featuring networking discussions

On Monday, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade organized a networking forum in New York in partnership with the Chinese consulate and various trade organizations. The event saw participation from more than 300 representatives of Chinese and American businesses, showcasing the ongoing initiatives aimed at bolstering economic connections and improving trade collaboration between the two nations.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) hosted a networking forum in New York on Monday, collaborating with the Chinese consulate and various trade organizations.

This event attracted more than 300 representatives from Chinese and American companies and business associations. It is part of the consulate's ongoing mission to improve trade opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

Ren Hongbin, chairman of the CCPIT, highlighted the importance of economic and trade cooperation as a fundamental aspect of China-U.S. relations, which has significantly evolved over the 45 years since diplomatic ties were established.

"China and the U.S. have strong economic complementarities and deeply intertwined interests," Ren stated. He pointed out that enhancing supply chain cooperation between the two nations is vital for maintaining the stability and efficiency of global industrial and supply chains, thereby contributing to both domestic and international economic growth.

"The common interests between China and the U.S. are increasing instead of decreasing," he added. He noted that traditional sectors like trade and agriculture, along with emerging fields such as climate change and artificial intelligence, offer shared interests and significant opportunities for cooperation.

Other participants shared similar viewpoints, underscoring the mutual benefits of ongoing collaboration. John Wang, president of the Asian American Business Development Center, expressed hope regarding the future of China-U.S. economic relations.

"Our continued partnership will not only enhance bilateral relations but will also contribute to global economic stability and growth," Wang affirmed.

Declan Daly, chief operating officer of the United States Council for International Business, also contributed to the conversation by highlighting the advantages that strengthened China-U.S. relations have provided to businesses in both countries. He expressed the council's eagerness to deepen collaboration with the CCPIT and its branches to foster a more inclusive and open market.

Huang Ping, the Chinese consul general in New York, emphasized that China will keep opening its extensive market to global enterprises, encouraging American businesses to utilize platforms like the China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo. His comments highlighted efforts aimed at boosting pragmatic cooperation and fostering stable development in China-U.S. relations.

Peter Tichansky, president and CEO of the Business Council for International Understanding, noted the introduction of over 300 reform measures by China, which has created substantial opportunities for collaboration between China and the U.S. in sectors like innovation, energy transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and trade.

"We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and working together to foster a safer and more prosperous world," he concluded.
