The C919, a passenger jet developed by China, is set to participate in flight demonstrations at the Singapore Airshow 2024, scheduled for February 20 to 25.

In a first, this aircraft will take part in Asia's most significant aerospace and defense event.

According to an announcement made by the airshow's host on Friday, this year's event at the Changi Exhibition Centre will include a sum of eight aerial showcases. These will encompass a flypast by six air forces as well as performances by two commercial corporations.

Audiences will be treated to aerobatic demos from teams hailing from India, Australia, Indonesia, and South Korea. The American B-52 bomber from the United States Air Force will execute a flypast, and Singapore's Air Force plans to feature its F-15 fighter jet alongside an Apache attack helicopter.

Leck Chet Lam, the managing director at Experia, who govern the organization of the airshow, expressed that "flying performances are always a key highlight at Singapore Airshow."

Lam added, "Since the previous two editions restricted public access due to pandemic safety measures, we are expecting substantial enthusiasm for the soon-to-come flying displays. It's exhilarating to host familiar acts along with introducing teams and aircraft that are participating for the first time at the Singapore Airshow."

Commercial aircraft devotees can anticipate a presentation from the A350-1000 model by Airbus and China's C919.

The launch of the first C919 aircraft, developed by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd (COMAC), took place between Shanghai Municipality in East China and Beijing, the capital city, on May 28, 2023. Since then, up until December 31, 2023, the C919 fleet operated by China Eastern Airlines has registered over 2,200 safe flight hours, with 655 commercial flights and roughly 82,000 passengers transported.
