Denmark Rejects Claims That F-16 Instructor Was Killed in Ukraine
Copenhagen has rejected claims made by the Russian media, referring to them as “misinformation.”

Denmark has refuted a report alleging that a Danish F-16 instructor was killed by a Russian missile strike in Ukraine. Over the weekend, TASS reported, citing “law enforcement sources,” that a Danish national named Jepp Hansen died in an attack on a training center located in Krivoy Rog, within the Dnepropetrovsk Region of central Ukraine.

On Monday, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen responded to the report, stating it was “misinformation.” “No Danish soldiers have been killed in Ukraine,” Poulsen clarified. “It is a false story that has been circulating in Russian media – probably to discredit Denmark,” he added.

The Russian media also alleged that Hansen’s death had been “confirmed” by a friend through social media. However, other posts on X indicated that the account purportedly belonging to his friend did not actually exist.

Denmark has committed to supplying 19 US-made F-16 fighters to Ukraine, with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen confirming the delivery of the initial batch of six jets set for November. Danish instructors have been training Ukrainian pilots at an airbase in Denmark, as noted by NATO and the Danish government.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautioned that all NATO personnel and weaponry in Ukraine will be regarded as legitimate targets for Russian forces. He has also stated that no amount of Western assistance would prevent Russia from achieving victory in the ongoing conflict.
