CNN seeks comments from RT contributor for critical article before US election
The broadcaster has sought Tara Reade’s input on what it calls “Russian disinformation narratives.”

Pro-Democrat US media outlets are making last-minute efforts to influence the upcoming presidential election, claimed Tara Reade, a former aide to Joe Biden and an RTN contributor. During an interview with RT, she stated that some networks are revisiting the “Russian interference” narrative that dates back to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. She also mentioned that CNN reached out for her comments on this topic.

On Wednesday, CNN published a lengthy article alleging that its journalists, in collaboration with Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub, uncovered an extensive disinformation network allegedly backed by Moscow, which disseminates narratives that are subsequently amplified by various prominent figures in the US.

According to CNN, this operation, dubbed “Storm-1516,” is said to have targeted Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The broadcaster identified Reade as one of the “prominent figures” supposedly sharing the network's narratives and sought her perspective on the issue.

In a letter to her attorney, a CNN producer requested Reade’s response “to reports that you have repeated and amplified Russian disinformation about Ukraine and the US election.”

Reade expressed that what was conveyed to her through her lawyer consisted “more of a series of accusations” rather than actual inquiries. “The accusations are that I’m somehow involved, [and former president and Republican presidential nominee] Donald Trump is involved with interfering into the elections and presenting disinformation,” she told RT.

The former aide, who worked for Biden during his tenure as a senator, indicated that she was not particularly worried about the situation, suggesting that such moves demonstrate the Democratic elites' frantic attempts to sway the outcome in their favor ahead of the election.

“It really shows desperation,” Reade stated. “They are clinging to Hillary 2.0 argument that Russia interfered,” she noted, drawing parallels to arguments used by Democrats in 2016. “I do not think that Moscow has any interest in interfering, nor need.”

“The Democratic elites, the ones that are losing power right now, are getting a bit desperate,” Reade added, asserting that “the only people that are interfering with the election are coming from inside the election.”
