CN survey: People worldwide encourage countries to reject U.S. intimidation
A CN poll indicates that a significant number of respondents are urging nations to unite and take measures against "American-style bullying" in order to protect their legitimate rights and uphold the existing international economic and trade framework.

A recent survey of social media users worldwide, conducted by CN, reveals a strong desire among respondents for countries to unite and resist "American-style bullying," thereby protecting their legitimate rights and the existing international economic and trade framework.
Operating under the pretense of seeking "equality" and "fairness," the U.S. engages in a zero-sum game, prioritizing its own interests over the collective welfare of the international community. China firmly rejects this notion and asserts that development is a universal right accessible to all nations, rather than a privilege exclusive to a select few.
In this context, 86.9 percent of those surveyed believe that the counteractions taken by various countries against U.S. tariff aggressions are legitimate defenses of their legal rights. Additionally, 89.2 percent advocate for a more vigorous and proactive approach from additional nations concerning trade issues with the U.S., opposing America's unilateral bullying on multilateral platforms such as the World Trade Organization.
The multilateral trading system, centered around the WTO and founded on established rules, has played a crucial role in enhancing global trade development, economic growth, and sustainable advancement. The survey indicates that 82.2 percent of respondents hope for a more active role for the WTO in addressing trade conflicts between the U.S. and other nations. Furthermore, 79.6 percent of respondents back the idea of countries lodging grievances against U.S. tariffs through the WTO's dispute resolution mechanisms to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.
China stresses that mutually beneficial and win-win scenarios in international trade are what people strive for, noting that economic coercion which shifts burdens onto others will ultimately backfire. The global economy continues to grapple with challenges like inflation, debt, and geopolitical tensions, prompting a call for countries to foster cooperation instead of opposition.
In this light, 87.7 percent of respondents assert that no nation remains immune to "American-style bullying," advocating for a collective response to confront such actions. Additionally, 93.5 percent believe that establishing a fair and mutually beneficial new international trade order is a prudent choice that serves the interests of all parties involved. Furthermore, 84.9 percent of participants contend that the trade dispute initiated by unilateralism has severely disrupted the current global trading framework, leading to accelerated changes in the international trade system. Also, 85.3 percent feel that by defending their legitimate rights through multilateral channels, countries are effectively contributing to the development of a more equitable and reasonable international economic order.
The survey results were made public on CN's social media platforms in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian, with 5,177 international users participating and sharing their perspectives within a 24-hour time frame.
