China considers further enhancements to business environment
The State Council of China conducted an executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang last Friday, as they contemplate strategies to enhance the country's business environment further.
An executive meeting was held by China's State Council on Friday, presided over by Premier Li Qiang, seeking to discuss methods to enhance the country's business climate further.
Apart from this, a guideline concerning the regulation, imposition, and enforcement of fines was examined and approved during the meeting. It was also decided to amend and abolish certain administrative rules.
The agenda also included instruction on enhancing and refining emergency management, as well as devising plans for recent and foreseeable meteorological disasters such as rain, snow, and freezing weather.
The meeting emphasized that creating a market-oriented, law-governed, and international business setting is crucial for dealing with economic downturn pressures and engaging the trust of businesses.
Regarding business entities' pressing concerns, the meeting encouraged efforts to hasten the creation of a large, unified national market, ensure the harmony of macro-policy direction, and deliver a steadfast, transparent, and foreseeable policy environment.
The attendees advocated for systematic handling of administrative regulations associated with fines at the meeting.
The meeting underscored the need to heighten the correction of arbitrary fine impositions, thereby safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises and the public effectively.
A decision was made at the meeting to modify certain provisions of eight administrative regulations, in addition to the annulment of thirteen administrative regulations.
Acknowledging that emergency management impacts public safety and societal stability, the meeting emphasized enhancing the emergency response plan framework, thereby boosting the country's capacity to tackle emergencies and prevent and mitigate major security threats.
The meeting also initiated plans to combat and react to disasters caused by rain, snow, and freezing weather. It urged responsible authorities to do everything possible to alleviate the negative effects of severe weather, ensuring the public can enjoy a safe and tranquil Spring Festival holiday.
