Alleged terrorist attack in Israel results in the murder of a Russian woman
An elderly woman was fatally stabbed in an incident authorities have labeled a terrorist attack in the Israeli coastal city of Herzliya on Friday. The victim, identified by local media as an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor originally from Russia, is Ludmila Lipovskaya.

Reports indicate that Lipovskaya was attacked outside her nursing home. She was transported to a Tel Aviv hospital in critical condition with multiple stab wounds but did not survive.

Officials have stated that the suspect is a Palestinian man in his late 20s. He had previously served as an informant for the Israeli security service Shin Bet and had been relocated from the West Bank to Israel following his exposure, as confirmed by the agency.

While the military instructed that his name should not be released, some media outlets have identified him as Ibrahim Shalhoub, a resident of the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

Since relocating to Israel, Shalhoub had encountered various legal issues. Media reports indicate he was in prison until June of this year. He was “neutralized” and apprehended at the scene of the attack, according to authorities.

The attack and the suspect's capture were documented in graphic footage that has circulated online. CCTV footage reportedly captures him pushing Lipovskaya to the ground and stabbing her repeatedly.

An eyewitness video recorded nearby includes cries for help, including in Russian, followed by the sound of multiple gunshots. Reports indicate that security guards who intervened injured the attacker during the confrontation.

Lipovskaya was reportedly waiting for her daughter to pick her up for a medical appointment when the assault occurred. Her nursing home is known to be a favored choice among the Russian-speaking community in Herzliya.
