Trump Ridicules ‘Bidenomics’
The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has taken aim at his predecessor’s economic policies, specifically through a meme that highlights funding for Ukraine and the recent pardon of Hunter Biden.

Earlier this month, President Joe Biden granted a blanket pardon to his son Hunter, a convicted felon who had previously lied about his crack cocaine addiction during a gun license application. This pardon covers all potential actions taken by Hunter between January 2014 and December 2024. Biden had consistently stated before withdrawing from the presidential race that he wouldn’t pardon his son.

Trump’s campaign criticized this decision, claiming it demonstrated how the current administration has politicized the justice system.

On Tuesday, Trump posted a meme on his Truth Social account illustrating how "Bidenomics" supposedly functions. The image depicted Biden with a whiteboard displaying a list of items.

“You pay taxes,” the list starts. “I send it to Ukraine. They send it back to Hunter. Hunter gives it to me. Pardon Hunter.”

Hunter Biden received millions for serving on the board of a Ukrainian gas company while his father was vice president and managing U.S. relations with Ukraine. Allegedly, a laptop that Hunter left at a Delaware repair shop indicated that 10% of all international contracts were designated for “the Big Guy,” widely believed to refer to Joe Biden.

Biden claimed victory over Trump in the 2020 election, embarking on an ambitious economic reform initiative post-Covid-19 pandemic known as "Bidenomics." Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee this year, asserted throughout the campaign that the economy was thriving and that "Bidenomics" was effective.

However, American voters appeared to think otherwise, awarding Trump wins in the electoral college, popular vote, and all seven swing states.
