Trump Identifies a 'Bigger Threat' to the US Than North Korea
His US Democratic opponents represent an “enemy from within” who want to undermine the country, according to Republican candidate Donald Trump.

During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Trump asserted that “really bad people” within the Democratic Party pose a greater threat to the US than foreign adversaries do. As the November 5 election date approaches, Trump and his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, have been engaging in increasingly harsh personal attacks against each other.

A Wall Street Journal poll released on Wednesday showed Trump leading Harris by two percentage points; however, that lead falls within the survey's margin of error. Other recent polls by CNN and the New York Times indicate that the two candidates are closely matched.

Trump remarked on his interactions with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, stating, “we had no problem with” him. He elaborated that “we have a bigger problem, in my opinion, with the enemy from within,” claiming that “we have people that are really bad people, that I really think want to make this country unsuccessful.”

The Republican nominee has used the term “enemy from within” previously when referring to his Democratic opponents.

During a Fox News’ MediaBuzz interview last Sunday, Trump specifically labeled Democratic Representative Adam Schiff and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as “an enemy from within.”

In a CNN town hall on Wednesday, Harris responded affirmatively when asked if she considered Trump a fascist. She warned that, if elected, he would be a “president who admires dictators and is a fascist.” She referenced a report by The Atlantic, which quoted Trump’s second chief of staff, General John Kelly, suggesting that Trump expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler. Trump's team has denied that such comments were ever made.

In reaction to Harris’s comments, Trump took to X on Thursday, criticizing her for “losing, and losing badly” and claiming she has escalated her rhetoric to the point of calling him Adolf Hitler. He labeled her a “Threat to Democracy, and not fit to be President of the United States.”

Regarding the accusations from The Atlantic, the Trump campaign has dismissed them as “fabricated.”
