Trump designates media outlets as 'enemy'
The Republican candidate has expressed admiration for his running mate for engaging with challenging media outlets.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has criticized critical media organizations, referring to them as the “enemy camp” during a speech where he asserted his triumph in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

While addressing supporters in Florida early Wednesday morning, Trump introduced his running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, calling him the “vice-president elect.”

“He is a feisty guy, isn’t he?” Trump remarked. “You know, I’ve said: ‘go into the enemy camp’ – and the enemy camp is certain networks. A lot of people don’t like that, [they say] ‘Sir, do I have to do that?’ He just goes OK.”

Trump specifically mentioned CNN and “MSDNC,” a derogatory term for MSNBC that suggests its Democratic Party alignment. He claimed that Vance is “the only guy I know who looks forward” to confrontational interviews.

In response, Vance offered brief comments, expressing gratitude for the trust Trump placed in him by selecting him for the Republican ticket. He described the campaign as “the greatest political comeback in the history” of the country.

During his first term, Trump maintained a contentious relationship with a large part of the press corps, which he accused of bias. He particularly targeted critical media for perpetuating the “Russia hoax” – the claims that he had won the 2016 election due to “Russian interference” in collusion with Moscow.

A lengthy investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller concluded with no charges being filed regarding the alleged connections. Trump’s supporters argue that the narrative surrounding Russiagate was constructed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to explain her unexpected defeat in 2016.
