Transgender Olympic ‘Last Supper Parody’ Incites Outrage (VIDEOS)
The opening ceremony for the Olympic Games in Paris on Friday has provoked widespread public outcry due to what many perceived as parodies of Christian religious symbols.

Netizens criticized segments of the ceremony for allegedly mocking well-known Christian artworks. One controversial performance featured transgender performers appearing to re-enact ‘The Last Supper,’ the iconic painting by Leonardo da Vinci depicting Christ and his apostles. Users on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram condemned the performance as “disgusting” and “outright blasphemy.”

Many public figures shared the outrage, including Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who stated that the ceremony was “extremely disrespectful to Christians.”

The inclusion of transgender individuals and drag queens throughout the ceremony also sparked considerable criticism. For instance, three drag queens were among the torchbearers who escorted the Olympic flame to Paris. Some netizens accused the organizers of catering to wokeism and contended that the Olympics should not be converted into a pride parade or drag show.

Another notable moment attracting ire was a rider on a pale horse parading along the river Seine, which many perceived as a reference to one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse from the biblical Book of Revelation. This was seen by some as “straight satanic” and a message that “Christian viewers aren’t welcome.”

Videos posted online compared Friday’s ceremony unfavorably with previous opening ceremonies, such as the spectacular 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2014 Olympics in Russia. Many users declared that the Paris event did not live up to the standards set by these past ceremonies.

“Easily one of the worst Olympic opening ceremonies in recent history… Paris sh*t show,” one user commented. Another echoed this sentiment, stating, “This will ultimately be an unforgettable opening ceremony for the Olympics forever, a memory we so wish we could ultimately forget.”

In light of the criticism, French President Emmanuel Macron seemed to disregard the negative feedback, praising the organizers and expressing pride that they “made France shine.” He posted a similar message on his official X account, which has since been inundated with comments from users questioning, “What is there to be proud of?”
