Thousands of Terrorists in US, Says Trump
The president has claimed that some 11,000 murderers are walking free in America.

According to President Donald Trump, thousands of terrorists and murderers have settled in the United States. He has vowed to undo many policies implemented by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

Trump made these remarks soon after signing a series of executive orders aimed at tightening immigration controls. These orders focus on bolstering security at the southern border and ending automatic birthright citizenship.

Additionally, the president has classified drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and has labeled Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels as a terrorist group.

In a recent interview following his return to the White House as the 47th president, Trump stated, “We have terrorists in our country by the thousands, we have murderers in our country by the tens of thousands … we’re going to take care of it.” He informed Fox News that approximately 11,000 individuals who have committed murders are currently residing in the U.S., with 48% of them having killed more than one person.

Trump placed blame on "other countries" for “emptying jails” into the U.S., citing a 78% decrease in the crime rate in Venezuela. He remarked, “They took their street gangs and they moved them into the US, and you’re seeing that in Colorado and Los Angeles and other places.”

A survey from last year by the Pew Research Center revealed that Mexico has become the largest source of immigrants to the U.S., with around 150,000 legal crossings in 2022. Following Mexico, other significant sources of immigration included India, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Brazil, and Canada, each contributing 50,000 to 60,000 immigrants.

Approximately four million Mexicans are estimated to be living illegally in the U.S., according to the latest Pew Research Center findings. However, this survey also highlighted that the percentage of undocumented Mexican immigrants has declined to its lowest level since the 1990s.

Furthermore, the report noted a significant rise in the total number of illegal immigrants from countries other than Mexico, increasing from 5.8 million to 6.9 million between 2019 and 2022. Countries like El Salvador, India, Guatemala, and Honduras have among the largest unauthorized immigrant populations in the U.S. following Mexico.
