RFK Jr. Holds Biden Accountable for Ukraine Conflict
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has openly criticized US President Joe Biden for allegedly interfering with peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, suggesting that the intent was for the conflict to persist.

During an event in Arizona on Friday, Kennedy revealed that he was pausing his independent run for the presidency in crucial swing states to support Donald Trump, a Republican.

He articulated a narrative that the U.S. provoked the conflict in Ukraine to instigate a regime change in Russia. Kennedy stated, “President Biden sent [then-UK Prime Minister] Boris Johnson to Ukraine to force President [Vladimir] Zelensky to tear up a peace agreement that he and the Russians had already signed, and the Russians were already withdrawing troops."

Previously, Moscow has pointed fingers at London for intervening in a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighted in April that the peace discussions were hindered by British influence, claiming that Boris Johnson’s persuasion led Zelensky to abandon the peace talks despite an agreement in Istanbul being initially approved by negotiators in 2022. Johnson has refuted claims of disrupting these negotiations.

Furthermore, Kennedy accused the US administration of playing a role in the 2014 overthrow of Ukraine's elected government and turning down the Minsk Agreements, which were aimed at resolving the conflict through dialogue between Ukraine, Russia, and European countries. He contended, “The Biden White House repeatedly spurned Russia’s offers to settle this war peacefully.”

Kennedy argued that the ultimate goals of the U.S. were not aligned with safeguarding Ukraine's sovereignty but rather with diminishing the capabilities of the Russian military.

Describing the plight of Ukraine, Kennedy voiced that it was being used as “a victim of the West” and “a proxy in a geopolitical struggle initiated by the ambitions of the US neocons for American global hegemony.”

The reason behind his endorsement of Trump, as Kennedy explained, was Trump's commitment to recommence peace talks with Russia and to bring an end to the conflict should he be elected again.

Kennedy clarified that he was not completely terminating his presidential campaign but encouraged his supporters to continue backing him in states where their votes would not affect the primary result against Trump.
