RFK Jr. Gains Support from Leading Podcasters
Joe Rogan and Russell Brand, two prominent figures in podcasting, expressed their support for the independent candidate.
Kennedy has primarily focused his media efforts on alternative and independent creators, and this approach is yielding results as endorsements come in during the crucial final days of the race.
“I am a fan. He’s the only one that makes sense to me,” Rogan said during a recent episode of his podcast. “He’s the only one that doesn’t attack people. He attacks actions and ideas. But he’s much more reasonable and intelligent.”
The impact of these endorsements on Kennedy's campaign remains uncertain, especially as his polling numbers have dropped since Vice President Kamala Harris assumed the Democratic ticket. However, it reflects a successful outcome of his longstanding media strategy. Kennedy has appeared on various online shows hosted by conservative and independent commentators, including interviews with Ben Shapiro of the Daily Caller and comedian Theo Von.
These podcasters are not uniformly political. Though Rogan previously endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for president and has interviewed Kennedy, his content varies widely. Nonetheless, the endorsements could help Kennedy attract newly interested potential voters.
The endorsements arrive at a pivotal moment for Kennedy’s campaign. Facing public polling declines, his campaign activities have been limited to public speeches, with no rallies held since May. Despite this, he remains active online and in the podcasting community.
Brand, who had previously performed at a comedy show fundraiser for Kennedy, revealed his support in a humorous online video.
“The good news is that I am endorsing you,” Brand said to conclude his endorsement skit. “I mean I can’t vote. Obviously, I’m English. I’m unable to vote. But I think we’re probably going to require actual American people to get up and vote for you.”
Podcaster Tim Pool appeared to endorse Kennedy on Friday by posting on X, “Ok I'm voting for RFK Jr now.” However, it later turned out to be a joke, as he is actually supporting Trump.
