Global Dialogue Series Focuses on Deepening China’s Reform in New York
Discussion series on advancing China's reform hosted in New York
Attendees included Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng, and Robert Lawrence Kuhn, chairman of the Kuhn Foundation. Nearly 100 representatives from U.S. political, business, and academic circles also participated.
Shen emphasized the significance of comprehensively deepening reform and highlighted CMG's dedication to telling the stories of China's reform, opening up, and modernization. He underscored CMG’s role in fostering exchanges, dialogue, and mutual learning between China and the rest of the world.
"CMG will continue to actively shoulder its responsibilities as a media outlet, promote cultural exchanges, carry out extensive cooperation with cultural institutions, international organizations and think tanks, and share the world opportunities in deepening China's reform in the new era," Shen noted.
Ambassador Xie elaborated on the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, stating that the session outlined a comprehensive plan for advancing Chinese modernization and continuing China's reform efforts. He stressed the importance of the USA and China complementing each other, making progress together, and promoting a stable, sustainable bilateral relationship based on mutual respect, peaceful co-existence, and win-win cooperation.
Kuhn, who is also a recipient of the China Reform Friendship Medal, highlighted that the recent plenary session sent a clear message about China’s commitment to advancing reform and opening up.
Expressing "full confidence" in China's development prospects, Kuhn urged the American business community to capitalize on the opportunities presented by China's reforms and invest in the country.
