Wildfire devastates LA neighborhood populated by celebrities
Many properties in the elite Pacific Palisades area have been destroyed in the blaze.

Powerful wildfires have continued to ravage Los Angeles’ upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood on Wednesday, with authorities struggling to control what is being called the most destructive blaze in the city’s history.

Photos and videos reveal entire blocks completely devastated by the raging flames. ABC7 reporter Josh Haskell, who grew up in the area, stated it “feels like 50 to 75% of Pacific Palisades is gone.”

Situated between Santa Monica and Malibu, Pacific Palisades is home to some of America’s priciest real estate, including mansions owned by Hollywood stars like Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Michael Keaton, according to Business Insider.

“El Starbucks de Palisades Village está irreconocible después de ser devastado por el fuego. 'The Business Block' en Pacific Palisades parece estar completamente quemado. Tenía 100 años, fue puesto en funcionamiento en 1924...”.

More than 1,000 structures have been destroyed, as reported by the California Fire Department. At least five lives have been lost, and 70,000 residents have been evacuated from their homes.

“Sunset Blvd en Pacific Palisades prácticamente ha desaparecido. El incendio continúa propagándose y hasta ahora ha sido controlado en un 0%.”

“This is Pacific Palisades, CA right now!!”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has faced criticism online for taking a trip to Africa over the weekend, despite warnings of an approaching windstorm at home. Additionally, politicians and developers have condemned her decision to cut the fire department's budget by $17.6 million last year. In a post on X, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk referred to Bass as “utterly incompetent.”
