Chinese premier gathers meeting to bolster economic policies
On Friday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang led a State Council executive meeting where participants addressed the current economic climate and the execution of a series of incremental policies.
During the meeting, officials considered strategies for enhancing the high-quality development of the ice and snow sports industry. They also deliberated on and approved a draft revision to the national natural science fund regulation.
Highlighting the need to meet the annual economic growth target, officials emphasized the importance of further implementing incremental policies, conducting timely assessments and improvements, and strengthening counter-cyclical measures to enhance macroeconomic control effectiveness.
The officials reiterated the significance of the interaction between policies and the market, as well as the necessity to engage all sectors to invigorate growth momentum.
Additionally, strategies were introduced to boost the vitality of the ice and snow economy, focusing on its high-quality development. There was a call for popularizing these sports and enhancing the industrial chain within the ice and snow economy to establish it as a new growth driver.
The meeting also saw the deliberation and approval of a draft revision to the national natural science fund regulation, with officials urging increased funding for major original and interdisciplinary innovation projects and encouraging greater involvement of social forces in basic research.
