On Friday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the critical role of diligent efforts in implementing reform policies to reach the nation's economic and social targets for the year, fueled by a comprehensive deepening of reforms.
During the fifth plenary session of the State Council, Li highlighted the necessity of focusing on economic structural reforms to enhance the impact of these changes. He pinpointed key areas such as fiscal and tax reform, the creation of a unified national market, and the promotion of new urbanization strategies.
Li advocated for increased measures to sustain the positive trends in economic recovery, with a particular emphasis on expanding domestic demand by increasing consumer spending.
"Service consumption should be improved in terms of both scale and quality, and differentiated support policies should be developed to suit the needs of different groups to fully unleash consumption potential," he stated.
In his speech, Li pointed out the significance of optimizing government investments and ensuring the effective execution of private investment support policies. He also suggested boosting the amount and utility of local government special bonds.
"The regular communication and exchange mechanism between the government and enterprises must be continuously improved," Li asserted. He called for businesses to be actively listened to, their concerns addressed, and their challenges genuinely solved.
Li stressed the importance of nurturing new quality productive forces that align with regional specifics, along with supporting the development, application, and enhancement of new technologies and products.
