China capitalizes on AI innovations to propel industrial and domestic integration
China is looking to capitalize on the opportunities created by advancements in artificial intelligence, using its strengths in digital technology, manufacturing, and market scale to promote the widespread use of AI models in various industries and households. This was stated by Chen Changsheng, a member of the Government Work Report Drafting Team and deputy director of the State Council Research Office, during a press briefing on Wednesday related to the Government Work Report delivered at the third session of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.

This year has seen a notable acceleration in the deployment of AI applications, highlighted by DeepSeek's growing international presence and the performance of Unitree Robotics' dancing robot at the China Media Group Spring Festival Gala.

Chen emphasized that the international capital market is regaining confidence in Chinese assets, highlighting the role of AI in fostering economic growth. The government has outlined several focus areas for this year:

1. **Empowering industries** – The integration of AI into manufacturing, agriculture, and services will receive strong support, particularly in the development and application of large AI models in specialized sectors. This initiative aims to speed up industrial transformation and enhance productivity.

2. **Expanding AI-powered consumer products** – China plans to expedite the creation of smart connected vehicles, AI-driven smartphones, computer systems with AI integration, and intelligent robots. By aligning AI advancements with the nation’s manufacturing capabilities, these innovations will reach market consumers more rapidly, improving daily living.

3. **Scaling AI applications across sectors** – The government intends to initiate extensive demonstrations of new AI technologies, products, and use cases, particularly in areas like the low-altitude economy, education, and healthcare. There will be a focus on preventing market fragmentation caused by an over-reliance on proprietary systems and instead fostering rapid iterations and broad adoption to create a synergistic relationship between technological innovation and market needs.

In addition, China will keep pushing forward with core AI technologies, enhance data-driven innovation, and improve computing infrastructures across the country. Recognizing the vital role of AI talent, especially among young professionals, the government plans to allocate more resources to support youth-led innovations and create an open, inclusive environment for AI development.
