CGTN Survey: 92.4% of Participants Feel Positive About the Economic Future of China
The primary economic and social development goals for the year are projected to be successfully met. A message from China's key annual economic conference acts as a "shot in the arm" for the struggling global economy. An online poll by CN reveals that 92.4 percent of participants express confidence in China's economic outlook, anticipating that China will continue to serve as a crucial engine of global economic growth and provide greater certainty for the world economy.

As the second-largest economy globally, China's economic performance is closely monitored. One CN viewer remarked, "Any growth in China means continued and diversified goods, with people around the world closely watching China's economy, just as they would watch the development of supermarkets that are closely tied to daily life."

In the first three quarters of the year, the economy expanded by 4.8 percent, marked by a steady rise in newly established foreign-invested enterprises, a notable rebound in consumption growth, and robust goods trade performance. Recent data has indicated a warming trend in China's economic prospects. The expansionary measures introduced in the third quarter of this year can be described as the "most significant economic adjustment measures in China in recent years," which have contributed to a clear recovery.

The survey indicates that 90.7 percent of respondents strongly believe in the potential and resilience of China's economy, maintaining that its long-term positive trajectory is intact. Furthermore, many respondents acknowledged China's initiatives aimed at enhancing consumption and improving investment efficiency. About 88.2 percent of participants feel that consumer-focused policies, such as the trade-in programs for old products, reflect China's commitment to stimulating domestic consumption and enhancing living standards—an approach that other nations could emulate.

In light of the slowing global economic growth, China's performance remains among the highest of major economies. In this context, 89.4 percent of those surveyed assert that the global economic recovery is contingent upon the steady advancement of China's economy; 87.2 percent are keen to benefit from China's high-level opening-up and its development opportunities.

This conference emphasized the importance of expanding high-level opening-up, boosting both autonomous and unilateral initiatives. Since the start of the year, China has been progressively increasing the number of countries eligible for visa-free entry, enhancing convenience for international exchanges and personnel movement, while fostering deeper cooperation with other nations and creating new opportunities for international trade. A significant 93.2 percent of respondents expressed their support, viewing this as evidence of China's resolve to maintain its high-level opening-up. One CN viewer commented, "Not needing a visa for short-term business trips to China is very helpful for international investors with business in China."

Amid rising trade protectionism, China has actively promoted inclusive economic globalization, ensuring that the benefits of development are shared equitably among all countries. Beginning this month, China has implemented zero-tariff treatment on all products imported from the least developed countries with which it has diplomatic relations. In the survey, 91.9 percent of respondents commended China's tangible efforts to advance South-South cooperation, asserting that this initiative plays a vital role in the shared development of Global South nations and underscores China's commitment as a responsible major power and its dedication to enhancing international collaboration.

The poll was conducted across CN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian platforms, with over 5,142 participants casting their votes within a 24-hour period.
