'Brazil's First Lady Exclaims "F**k you, Elon Musk"'
Janja Lula da Silva expressed her frustration at a public event, stating, “F**k you, Elon Musk.” For more details, read the full article at RT.com.
As she spoke, a ship horn interrupted her, prompting Janja to exclaim, “It’s Elon Musk,” followed by, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you, Elon Musk.”
Musk responded on X with laughing emojis and remarked, “They are going to lose the next election.”
The exchange underscores the ongoing discussion about misinformation on social media. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has criticized Musk’s platform for its approach to this issue, asserting, “We cannot allow any platform to undermine democracy and the rights of our citizens.”
Janja’s comments have drawn criticism from opposition figures in Brazil, including former President Jair Bolsonaro, who warned that her remarks might create diplomatic challenges for the current government.
In October, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes approved the reinstatement of social media platform X in Brazil, following a shutdown that lasted over a month. The ban, enacted on August 30, stemmed from a conflict over free speech, far-right accounts, and misinformation.
Musk has labeled de Moraes as an authoritarian and a censor. Ultimately, X complied with de Moraes’ stipulations, which included blocking certain accounts, paying fines, and appointing a legal representative in Brazil — a condition that had led to the platform's suspension.
