The 7th China International Import Expo, recognized as the world's largest import fair, wrapped up in Shanghai on Sunday. The event resulted in preliminary agreements totaling $80.1 billion, marking a 2 percent increase compared to the previous year.
This year's country exhibition at CIIE showcased participation from 77 countries and international organizations spanning five continents. The business exhibition saw nearly 3,500 companies from 129 countries and regions, including 297 Fortune 500 firms and leading industry players—setting a record for the event. By noon on Sunday, the fair had drawn 852,000 visitors.
CIIE also hosted approximately 50 trade and investment promotion events, featuring a matchmaking meeting that resulted in over 260 agreements. The total value of intended cooperation deals reached at the event surpassed $9.4 billion.
New initiatives this year included an exclusive buyer selection meeting and a dedicated buyer "corridor" located near the food pavilion, where more than 70 key buyers from sectors such as catering, e-commerce, large supermarkets, and international trade engaged directly with exhibitors.
Devoted to fostering innovation through openness, the CIIE served as a global cooperation platform where companies presented new products, cutting-edge technologies, and pioneering services. More than 400 innovative products, technologies, and services made their debut at the expo, which spanned over 420,000 square meters.
Alongside the expo, the 7th Hongqiao Forum featured discussions on various topics, including new energy vehicles and energy storage, as well as pressing issues like artificial intelligence, consumer upgrades, and the digital economy. Covering essential areas such as new quality productivity, new industrialization, business environment, and youth development, the forum garnered significant attention and participation from a diverse range of sectors.
