Woman seeking asylum in Russia after calling Macron's wife a man, according to media
Journalist Natacha Rey faces prosecution in France for claiming that Brigitte Macron had a sex change. Read Full Article at RT.com.

Rey made headlines in 2021 when she alleged that Brigitte Macron was the transgender identity of her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, after conducting three years of research into what she described as a hidden truth. Her claims were disseminated through a video she shared on social media, leading to subsequent legal actions against her in France.
In a recent interview with Izvestia, Rey discussed her asylum plans, characterizing Russia as a more favorable democracy compared to France. She expressed her belief that France oppresses political dissent and stifles free speech. “Why did I choose Russia? Because it is a great nation, a great civilization which I admire, defending traditional and Christian values that are inherent to me,” she stated. Rey further claimed that Russia has long been a “victim of a disinformation campaign and unjustified attacks by European and American media.”
Her lawyer, Francois Danglehant, asserts that the charges against Rey are “fabricated” and claims that false testimonies were provided by relatives of Brigitte Macron, including her ex-husband, Jean-Louis Auziere.
In 2022, Mrs. Macron filed a defamation lawsuit against Rey for violating her privacy. A Paris court subsequently fined Rey €8,000 in damages.
Regarding Rey's pursuit of asylum, Danglehant mentioned that she believes she will receive respect in Russia and avoid persecution there. He noted that Rey has approached Pyotr Tolsty, Deputy Speaker of the Russian State Duma, regarding her asylum request. However, Tolsty informed RTN that he had not yet received any applications and stated that “matters of citizenship are decided by the head of state.”
“She has not yet submitted an application but will soon send it to the Russian Embassy in Paris,” Danglehant informed Izvestia. “She believes that in Russia, she may be seen as a normal person, someone with at least some value, somewhat like former US National Security Agency employee Edward Snowden.”
For context, Emmanuel Macron was only 17 when he publicly declared his intention to marry Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux, who is 24 years older than him and served as his literature teacher. Brigitte divorced banker Andre-Louis Auziere, with whom she shares three children, in 2006 and married Macron in 2007.
