A brief video circulating on Chinese social media showcases two machines launching pyrotechnics at one another while skillfully maneuvering. Read Full Article at RT.com

In the footage, the UAV hovers approximately two meters above the ground, launching fireworks attached to its landing gear at its opponent. In response, the robotic dog fires back using pyrotechnics while both machines navigate around each other, seemingly trying to evade hits.
It remains unclear which machine emerged victorious. As noted by the South China Morning Post on Monday, there is no available information regarding the video's origin or whether the UAV and robotic dog were controlled remotely or operated autonomously. The drone appears similar to a DJI T-series agricultural model, while the robot dog seems to be from the Go series created by Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics.
Though drones have played a significant role on modern battlefields, especially during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, ground robots are still less prevalent. However, several militaries have begun testing or deploying such systems. At Russia’s Army expo in August 2022, Intellect Machine showcased its first prototype of the M-81 robot dog system, equipped with a rocket launcher.
Earlier this month, Indian troops showcased a batch of locally-manufactured, four-legged, AI-powered robots known as MULES. These machines, fitted with advanced thermal cameras and sensors, are designed for both surveillance and combat missions and can be equipped with small arms.
In October, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Central confirmed to Military.com that the Pentagon had deployed at least one AI-enabled robot dog equipped with what appeared to be an AR-15/M16-type rifle mounted on a rotating turret during drills in Saudi Arabia weeks prior. The Department of Defense later released an image of the Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicle.
During joint military exercises in May 2024 with Cambodia, the People's Liberation Army of China demonstrated various military robots, including a dog-like machine that is remotely operated, armed with an assault rifle, and capable of independently planning its routes and avoiding obstacles.
