Trump selects RFK Jr., Gabbard for his transition team
Donald Trump has appointed his former adversary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., along with Tulsi Gabbard, a ex-Democrat who recently endorsed him, to his transition team. This group is tasked with assisting the former president in choosing staff and forming policies for his potential second stint in the Oval Office.

“As President Trump’s broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team,” said Brian Hughes, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign. "We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team [as] we work to restore America’s greatness."

After ceasing his independent presidential campaign last week, Kennedy, who formerly sought the presidency as a Democrat, officially backed Trump.

“I’ve been asked to go onto the transition team and to help pick the people who will be running the government,” Kennedy explained in an interview with Tucker Carlson on X on Tuesday.

Gabbard, who was a Democratic presidential contender in 2020 and left the Democratic Party in 2022, publicly supported Trump this past Monday during an event at the National Guard Association in Detroit.

Trump’s inclusion of Kennedy marks a significant shift given that earlier in the year, during the peak of Kennedy's independent campaign, Trump's team had labeled him a “liberal lunatic."

The New York Times was the first to report on Kennedy and Gabbard joining the transition team.

The transition team also includes Linda McMahon, co-chair and former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO who served as the administrator of the Small Business Administration under Trump’s first administration; Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald and former chair of the conservative America First Policy Institute; Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance from Ohio; and Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, who serve as honorary chairs.
