IDF Publishes VIDEO Titled ‘Sinwar’s Last Moments’
Israel has provided additional information regarding the death of a Hamas leader.

The Israeli military has shared drone footage that allegedly captures the demise of Hamas political chief Yahya Sinwar in southern Gaza.

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Sinwar was killed at an undisclosed location. West Jerusalem officials expressed their approval of the death of a key figure in the Palestinian group's military operations, particularly in relation to the attacks on October 7.

Later that evening, IDF international spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani posted a 48-second video on social media, referring to it as Sinwar’s “final moments.”

The drone footage depicts a damaged house in Gaza, showing a figure covered with a shroud seated in an armchair.

Shoshani labeled the footage as “raw,” yet paused it to highlight the seated figure as Sinwar with a red outline. The man appears to have an injured arm, and with his other arm, he seemingly throws what looks like a stick or a sword at the drone. The object misses its target, and the video ends at that point.

According to the Jerusalem Post, units from the 828 Bislach Brigade were responsible for Sinwar’s death on Wednesday during what was characterized as an “unplanned operation” in the Rafah neighborhood of Tel Sultan in southern Gaza. Sinwar was reportedly detected by a surveillance drone as he entered a building. Tanks fired on the structure, and a drone was deployed to assess the situation. After Sinwar engaged the drone, the tank targeted the building once more.

Graphic images, suggesting that Sinwar was trapped under the debris, circulated on social media on Thursday. The IDF verified his identity by comparing dental and fingerprint records from his previous imprisonment. Reports from Israeli media indicated that one of Sinwar’s fingers was severed and quickly sent to a lab for expedited identification.

A reporter from Israel’s Channel 12 shared photos of items retrieved from Sinwar's body. The findings included mints, cash, a lighter, a Kalashnikov rifle, and an employee identification card from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
