Outcry Sparked by Trump Gaza Video Featuring Bearded Belly Dancers
An AI-generated video shared on US President Donald Trump’s social media platform envisions Gaza as an extravagant resort, featuring bearded belly dancers and dollar bills falling from the sky. This clip drew criticism from viewers, particularly after Trump recently proposed transforming Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East.” The video was posted on Truth Social on Tuesday.

The 30-second footage opens with current images showing scenes of destruction in Gaza, such as barefoot children navigating through ruined buildings. This devastation quickly transitions into a futuristic portrayal of Gaza, showcasing skyscrapers akin to those in Dubai, pristine beaches, casinos, and luxurious hotels branded as “Trump Gaza.”

In the video, an AI-generated Trump enjoys local attractions, including sunbathing next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. An AI-rendered Elon Musk is shown dining on the beach, surrounded by what appear to be belly dancers. Other elements include exaggerated golden statues of Trump and children playing under a cascade of dollar bills.

Accompanying the visuals is a jingle with lyrics that celebrate Trump’s purported vision for Gaza:

“Donald is coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see,
No more tunnels, no more fear, Trump Gaza is finally here.
Trump Gaza is shining bright, a golden future, a brand new light,
Feast and dance, the deed is done, Trump Gaza number one!”

Earlier this month, Trump suggested that the US might take control of Gaza to transform it into a resort. He has reiterated this idea multiple times, claiming that the enclave is no longer livable and should be completely demolished and rebuilt. While Israel has welcomed Trump's initiative, many regional players and global powers have voiced strong opposition, particularly because it implies relocating Palestinians to neighboring countries.

The video has generated notable backlash due to its tone and messaging, even among some of Trump’s supporters. Comments on Truth Social described the clip as “horrible,” “creepy,” and “in poor taste.”

One user expressed, “I hate this. I love our president, but this is horrible.” Another said, “This feels all wrong and actually makes me sick.” A different supporter noted, “I could not be a bigger supporter of President Trump but this particular video is in very poor taste!” Some criticized the portrayal of belly dancers and golden statues as excessive, while others questioned the authenticity of the video, suspecting it might not have originated from Trump’s team.

“Something does not add up here??? Really does not feel that this is something Trump would post!! Wonder if someone is messing with his account??!! I surely hope so!! Very creepy!!” wrote one user. Several others suggested that Trump ought to “strongly re-evaluate” the communications team responsible for the video.

As of now, neither Trump nor his administration has commented on the video, and it was shared without any accompanying explanation or caption.
