Woodward's book reveals Trump had several conversations with Putin after leaving office
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has had discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin “maybe as many as seven” times since leaving office in 2021, according to journalist Bob Woodward in a forthcoming book obtained by CNN.

Woodward also notes that during his presidency, Trump sent Covid-19 testing machines to Putin for his personal use at the peak of the pandemic. This revelation, which the Trump campaign strongly refuted, has reignited accusations of an overly friendly rapport between the two leaders—something Trump has consistently sought to downplay.

Jason Miller, a Trump campaign aide, told Woodward he was unaware of such calls. Campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung vocally rejected Woodward's claims and launched personal attacks against the seasoned journalist, who is widely recognized for his work at The Washington Post during the Watergate scandal.

"None of these made up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome," Cheung stated in a lengthy response, further branding Woodward an "angry, little man."

Cheung dismissed Woodward's book as something that "either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue."

The book also reveals that President Joe Biden attributed the failure of former President Barack Obama to handle Russia's 2014 invasion of Crimea as a factor leading to the Kremlin's larger invasion of Ukraine in 2022. “They fucked up in 2014,” Biden reportedly said to a friend. “That’s why we are here. We fucked it up. Barack never took Putin seriously.”

Biden reportedly expressed particularly harsh sentiments about Putin and his ongoing war in Ukraine. “That fucking Putin,” Biden said to advisers in the Oval Office, according to Woodward. “Putin is evil. We are dealing with the epitome of evil.”

According to CNN, the book outlines Biden’s discussions with national security officials prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Upon learning of Russia’s invasion plans, Biden reacted: “This would be so crazy.”

“Jesus Christ!” he exclaimed. “Now I’ve got to deal with Russia swallowing Ukraine?”

The book also provides insights into Biden's exchanges with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which Biden criticized Netanyahu for lacking a "strategy" regarding the war in Gaza, which has resulted in over 40,000 casualties. One notable moment detailed by Woodward includes Biden referring to Netanyahu as a “bad fucking guy,” a sentiment reported by PMG in February.

Other revelations from the book depict the various strains of Biden’s presidency, including his admission that he regretted choosing Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Sen. Lindsey Graham likening Mar-a-Lago to North Korea, saying, “everybody stands up and claps every time Trump comes in." Moreover, Biden privately referred to Trump as “that fucking asshole.”

Biden's use of strong language in private is not a new phenomenon; PMG highlighted his frequent use of the F-word with aides and in meetings back in October 2021.
