Trump Warns World War III is 'not so far away'
US President Donald Trump has asserted that his election victory was crucial in preventing the outbreak of World War III. He contended that if former Vice President Kamala Harris had won the election last November, a global conflict would have emerged within a year.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Future Investment Initiative Institute in Miami Beach, a non-profit organization backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, Trump expressed his ambition to be recognized as “a peacemaker and a unifier.” He identified resolving conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine as significant priorities of his foreign policy.

“There’s no profit for anyone in having World War III, and you’re not so far away from it,” Trump remarked to the audience. “If we would have had this administration for another year, you would have been in World War III, and now it’s not going to happen.”

In a farewell address at the State Department last month, then-President Joe Biden emphasized that his administration aimed to “rally the world and defend Ukraine” while striving to “avoid war between two nuclear powers.”

Trump has been vocal in criticizing Biden and his administration, including Harris, alleging that they exhibited gross incompetence. He frequently maintains that, under his leadership, the tensions surrounding Ukraine would not have spiraled into armed conflict.

Earlier this week, senior officials from both Russia and the US met in Saudi Arabia to discuss mending relations that had deteriorated during Biden's presidency. Trump praised Riyadh’s role in facilitating these talks, describing them as highly successful and supportive of his administration’s efforts to address the Ukraine crisis.

This diplomatic development has created friction between Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who has insisted that negotiations over the conflict should proceed with Kiev's involvement.

During his speech, Trump criticized Zelensky, describing him as a “dictator without elections” who has been exploiting American resources instead of pursuing a diplomatic resolution with Russia. He suggested that Zelensky “wants to keep the gravy train going” and cautioned that he “better move fast, or he’s not going to have a country left.”

Zelensky has previously accused Trump of promoting ‘Russian disinformation’ due to his assertions about the Ukrainian leader's low approval ratings, referencing a poll from a Kiev-based organization that indicated public support for Zelensky. In response, Trump claimed he was citing “real Ukrainian polls.”
