The White House has been elusive for weeks regarding the leadership of DOGE. Here's the answer.
The White House has clarified that Amy Gleason, a former expert from the U.S. Digital Service, is the acting administrator of DOGE, contradicting any claims that Elon Musk holds this position.

A White House official, speaking anonymously to allow for candid conversation, confirmed to PMG that Gleason is leading the operation. Her LinkedIn profile indicates that she was a digital services expert at the U.S. Digital Service during Trump's first term and has most recently worked as the chief product officer at Nashville health care company Russell Street Ventures.
For weeks, the White House has avoided naming the DOGE administrator. Earlier on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt sidestepped multiple inquiries regarding the matter, stating, “I'm not going to reveal the name of that individual from this podium.”
Elon Musk, a prominent tech entrepreneur and adviser to President Donald Trump, has taken on a publicly prominent yet unclear role in DOGE's functions. Questions about his involvement have emerged in various lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of DOGE's actions, which include efforts to access Treasury Department systems controlling trillions of dollars in payments. However, officials have consistently maintained that Musk is not the DOGE administrator, and Justice Department lawyers were unable to confirm the identity of the administrator when questioned by a judge on Monday.
In a curious twist, Trump appeared to contradict these assertions, stating clearly at a financial conference in Miami last week that he had “put a man named Elon Musk in charge” of DOGE.
Details surrounding the timing of Gleason's appointment and her connectivity with Musk in managing DOGE's operations remain unclear. As of Tuesday afternoon, Gleason's LinkedIn profile indicates that she has been serving as a senior adviser at the United States Digital Service since January.
