Kremlin Responds to Lawsuit Filed Against the FBI
Moscow has expressed support for Russian companies making legal efforts to protect their rights, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. This statement came in response to inquiries regarding a Russian firm's intentions to sue the FBI over allegations of disseminating false information.

The company, ANO Dialog, which focuses on combating disinformation, revealed this week its plans to contest claims from the FBI that it participated in spreading misleading online content. U.S. authorities have accused ANO Dialog of being involved in AI-driven deep fake operations, labeling it as a ‘Russian state-sponsored actor’ with intentions to disrupt election processes.

“Of course, we support any attempts [by targeted companies] to defend their rights in court,” Peskov said. He added that both state and non-state organizations and media outlets should have their rights defended using all legal avenues available.

Despite the support, Peskov expressed skepticism about the fairness of U.S. courts. “One can assume with a high degree of certainty that in such cases, American courts will immediately lose their impartiality, balance and fairness. They will forget about these principles,” he declared. He further stated that there is little expectation for unbiased legal proceedings in these cases within the American judicial system.

Vladimir Tabak, CEO of ANO Dialog, informed Kommersant that the organization firmly rejects the accusations, which he attributed to assertions made by the U.S. Justice and Treasury Departments based on “testimony from an FBI agent.”

“The testimony of officials in the United States has shown that fakes could be spread, for example, by FBI agents and representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice and other agencies,” Tabak stated.

On Thursday, he announced that ANO Dialog has engaged American attorneys and indicated that details about the lawsuit's filing will be finalized soon, planning to sue the FBI in the state of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Tabak revealed plans to establish an International Association for Fact-Checking aimed at combating disinformation. He noted that this initiative will involve collaboration with countries friendly to Russia and other like-minded organizations.
